On Thursday, September 22, 2022 a Ceremony was held at the Walmart SuperCenter in Eau Claire Wisconsin to thank Manager Tonya, her management Team, her employees and Walmart for their generous donation of $2,500 in the fight for our veterans and service men and women. The Eau Claire Walmart store joined other Walmart SuperCenters and Sam’s Clubs in West Central Wisconsin and Southeast Minnesota and their combined gifts and grants total in excess of $18,000.00 will be utilized for a no-cost program for veterans and active-duty military focused on eliminating the suicide epidemic among our combat veterans without getting them hooked on pain killers and other drugs.
During the ceremony Eau Claire VFW Post 305 provided the bell which members of the crowd gathering outside and employees of Walmart rang the bell to represent the number of military and veterans who die each day from suicide until they reached the number twenty. The twenty rings was completed by Eau Claire Walmart SuperCenter Store Manager Tonya and Jim Crigler, Co-Chair of PTSD Benefit Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Warfighter Advance, while 305 Post Commander David Zien looked on.
